A mobile court here on Wednesday fined and jailed five gamblers at
Jogirbhaban village of Paikor union under Kahalu upazila of Bogra
district.
The convicted persons were identified as Raju Ahmed, 30, son of
Shamsur Rahman, Fotik Mia, 35, son of late Salim Uddin, Ajmol Hossain,
26, son of Abdul Kuddus of Kahalu upazila, Mahbub Hossain, 24, son of
Khalil Mia of Shibganj upazila and Raju Ahmed, 30, son of late Arfan
Gani of Shabgram area of sadar upazila of Bogra district.
Police sources said that Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive
Magistrate Mohammad Nasim Ahmed conducted a drive and caught the five
gamblers red-handed on Tuesday night and pronounced the fine of
different amounts of money and different duration of jail against the
accused on Wednesday.
