Monthly base ‘talk show’ programme, Cosmos Art Echo will be held on Sunday, 24 February 2019, 5:30 pm. This is the 2nd edition Cosmos Art Echo. Legendary portrait photographer Nasir Ali Mamun. He will give his speech in the title of ‘ME & MY GENERATION’ cosmos Atelier71 Studio.
Nasir Ali Mamun, born: 1st July 1953, Dhaka.
Lives and works in Dhaka. Described as the father of portrait photography in Bangladesh. He is best known for his iconic portraits of recognized celebrities from a diversity of backgrounds including the arts. Working exclusively in black and white, this body of work created from 1972 onwards has been glorified by critics as capturing rare moments of rarer human beings in a spirit of discovery, providing a facial history of creative souls; During his 48 years career Nasir Ali Mamun portraitures have been highly acclaimed in 58 solo exhibitions both home and abroad. He has authored two books on photography and about a dozen on interviews. The first photo editor at a daily newspaper in this country. His portraits of light and shadows are now priceless for the people history and time.
He received ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ from Chobi Mela International Festival of Photography and ‘Celebrating Life’ by Standard Chartered Bank Ltd. And The Daily Star in 2017. Honored with ‘Shilpakala Padak’ by the President of Bangladesh in 2018. Today, Mamun is the most influential portrait photographer of his time and he has enthralled our audience for decades.
