Moulana Yusuf buried in Sharankhola

Senior nayeb-e-ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Maulana AKM Yusuf who died of at a hospital in the capital on Sunday was laid to eternal rest at his village in Sharankhola upazila on Tuesday. He was buried by the grave of his mother around 10 am following a namaz-e-janaza at the field adjacent to his home at Razoir village in the upazila.   AKM Yusuf, who had been facing the trial of crimes against humanity perpetrated during Bangladesh’s War of Independence, breathed his last at the city’s Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University on Sunday.   Founder of notorious Razakar outfit in 1971, detained Yusuf, 88, was brought to the hospital after he fell ill at Kashimpur jail in Gazipur.   Yusuf, also a member of infamous Malik Cabinet in occupied Bangladesh backed by Pakistan junta, died soon after he was admitted to the Hospital.   The trial of the war crimes suspect was at the final stage. – UNB
