Mourning for King Abdullah Saturday: Hasina, Khaleda shocked

The government has declared a national mourning for Saturday to pay respects to Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud who died on Friday.
The national flag will fly at half-mast at all government, semi-government and autonomous bodies, educational institutions, private buildings and Bangladesh missions abroad, said a handout on Friday.
Special prayers will be offered at all mosques and worship places for the salvation of the departed soul of the late Saudi King.Meanwhile, President Abdul Hamid will leave Dhaka for Saudi Arabia on Saturday morning to offer the state condolences and attend the funeral of Abdullah.
Abdullah died around 1am (local time) on Friday at the age of 90, the royal court of Saudi Arabia said in a statement.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday expressed her deep shock at the death of the king conveyed respects for his to the new king and prayed for salvation of the departed soul.
BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Friday expressed deep shock at the death of Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
In a condolence message sent to new Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, she said, “Bangladesh has lost its genuine and close friend at the death of the Abdullah.”
She also prayed for salvation of the King’s departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved royal family.
