Tangail, Sept. 27: Maksuda Khanom First and Additional District Judge of Tangail refused the bail to AL leader and MP of Tangail -3 Ghatail constituency charged in FF and AL leader Farook Ahmed murder case on Thursday. The court recorded the deposition of the witness of Sarower Hossain and Shafiqul Hoque and testified. The court fixed October 18 for next hearing.PP Monirul Islam said that MP Rana was brought before the court from Kashempur jail at 10.50 AM. The court sets at 11.00AM. Hearing on bail was held and continued up to 1.30 PM. An advocate of the supreme court Mohammad Ali, Mahbub Ahmed senior lawyer in Tangail Arfan Molla, Abdul Baki Mia took part in the bail hearing. PP Monirul Islam and Advocate Rafiqul Islam opposed bail. The court denied bail and fixed the next date of hearing of the case on October 18 after recording the
deposition of two witnesses Farook Ahmed murder case. MP Rana was also denied bail from High Court earlier.
It is to be noted that AL leader Farook Ahmed was murdered in January
18, 2013. The case was handed over to DB police. Police arrested Aminul Islam Raja and Mohammad Ali close associates of MP Rana. After remand Aminul Islam Raja was produced before the court of Additional chief judicial Magistrate Md. Abdul Hakim and Mohammad Ali was produced before the court of senior judicial Magistrate Sheikh
Nazmonnahar. Both of them confessed their guilt and narrated the picture of killing Farook Ahmed.
They disclosed the names of influential four brothers of Khan Family who were involved in the killing crime. They are Alhaj Amanur Rahman Khan Rana MP of Tangail-3 (Ghatail) constituency, ex-religious affairs secretary of Tangail district AL, his younger’s Shahidur Rahman Khan Mukti ex-mayor of Tangail municipality and ex-secretary of Tangail city AL, ex-secretary general of Tangail bus, minibus, coach owners
association, president of Tangail trade and commerce and industry, secretary of Tangail Bobosayee Okkoya Jote Zahidur rahman Khan Kakon and Saniat Khan Bappa, ex- vice-president of central BCL and VP of Government Sadat College. MP Rana after absconding 22 months surrendered to the court on September 18, 2016. The court sent him to jail rejecting his bail prayer. He is staying in Kashimpur jail. Three
brothers of MP Rana have been absconding. MP Rana was also charge sheeted in BCL leader Abu Sayed Rubel murder attempt case on September 20. – Staff Reporter
