Mufti Wakkas sent back to jail

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Monday sent Mufti Muhammad Wakkas, Jamiatey Islam and Islami Law Implementation
Committee Secretary General back to jail rejecting his bail petition.
The Detective Branch (DB) of Police produced him before the CMM Court on completion his15-day remand for interrogation, while Magistrate Tariqul Islam passed order to send him to jail.
On September 3, the DB took him to the CMM Court with 50-day remand plea in five different cases, including police Sub-Inspector Shahjahan murder case.
On September 2, the DB detained the former state minister for religious affairs Mufti Wakkas for his alleged involvement in Hefajat-e-Islam rampage on May 5 at Shapla Chattar in the capital’s Motijheel business hub. – Court Correspondent
