Rajshahi – The historic Mujibnagar Day was observed amid different programmes including discussion meeting and essay writing competition at Rajshahi University (RU) on Monday.To mark the Day the university authority arranged a discussion programme at the Teacher Student Cultural Center (TSCC) of the university.
Treasurer of the university Professor Sayen Uddin Ahmed presided over function moderated by University student advisor Professor Md. Mizanur Rahman.
Addressing the program as cheif guest Professor Sanath Kumar Saha said that for gaining the genuine recognition of Independence of nation we must maintain the recognition of the Mujibnagar government.
Observing the Day, BCL RU unit brought out a procession on the campus that began from their political tent and dispersed after a meeting.
The University Readers Forum organised Quiz contest and discussion meeting at the Deans Complex of the university on the Day.
On the other hand, a demand of making the proclaimation of Independence Day as National Day came from a rally of the university Meherpur student development association in front of the university central library. – RU Correspondent
