The government is preparing a list of disabled persons across the country in order to ensure their welfare by taking various programmes.
Social Welfare Department (SWD), as part of the programme, conducted a survey to determine the number of disabled persons in all 12 upazilas of the district. It found 60,786 disabled in the district.
The survey continued from May to the second week of November 2013, official sources said. -BSS, Mymensingh
