Nationalists would remain with Khaleda till last drop of blood: BNP

Bangladesh Nationalist Party yesterday slammed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Wednesday’s remarks in Parliament about Khaleda Zia involving her in sabotage.
“The government has been hatching conspiracy to arrest BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia to remove her from politics,” said BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed in a statement.PM Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday told parliament that bringing the BNP chairperson under the purview of law as an accused for giving instruction for killing would be logical. She further said the law enforcement agencies will look into the matter and they’ll take action.
Rizvi alleged that since the Prime Minister needs power, she considers our leader Khaleda Zia is the main obstacle to her way to cling to power.
“That’s why preparations for staging a drama to arrest her (Khaleda) are going on as part of their (govt) continued conspiracy to remove her from politics,” he added.
The BNP leader also alleged that the government has now made its main target Khaleda Zia who is the foremost representative of the nationalist force, after brutally oppressing the leaders and activists of the 20-party alliance and taking their blood. “It’s their last poisonous bite,” he said.
He warned that members of law enforcement agencies would have to face dire consequences if they do not stop repression on the leaders and activists of the 20-party alliance.
“The law enforcers have turned into Awami law enforcement agencies they are not behaving like the state force. The government is drenching the entire country with the bloods of opposition men,” he observed.
The BNP leader said the law enforcers have become a symbol of horror to people as they at the behest of the party in power are carrying out cruel attacks on the opposition.
Issuing a note of warning to the government, the BNP leader said, “Don’t play with fire and don’t try to invite a great disaster. The democracy-loving nationalist forces that are on the movement will remain beside Khaleda Zia even sacrificing the last drop of their blood.” – Staff Reporter
