Dhaka – Rangpur Division, riding on a double century by Naeem Islam and century by Ariful Haque, scored 560 for 8 before declaring the first innings against Dhaka Division on the 2nd day of the National Cricket League Tier 1 match at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna on Saturday.Rangpur Division resumed the first innings with overnight total of 321 for 4 and declared the innings with the comfortable score.Two down Naeem Islam, who was in batting with 120 runs, completed his superb innings hammering 216 runs off 349 balls featuring 23 fours and five sixes while number seven batsman Ariful Haque hammered an unbeaten ton scoring just 100 runs off 161 deliveries with seven fours and three sixes.Shuvagata Hom claimed three wickets for 125 runs while Taiyubur Rahman took two for 57.In reply, Dhaka Division opened the first innings and scored 54 for 1 in 9 overs when the bails were drawn for the 2nd day (Saturday) and were trailing by 506 runs against Rangpur.Opener Rony Talukder and one down Minhaz Khan were in batting with 21 and 3 runs respectively after the departure of opener Abdul Mazid, who made 25 runs.Abdur Rahman took the lone wicket of Mazid conceding 11 runs.
