Steps should be taken to protect intellectual property

The scientists and experts on Monday underscored the necessity of taking proper steps to conserve the intellectual property rights of the inventors, researchers and developers.They also said that our country has lost many glories, like Jamdani textiles, Hilsa fish, due to lacking in awareness of intellectual property rights.
They were addressing day-long training programme on intellectual property rights was held in Syed Nazrul Islam Hall of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU).
In his keynote speech, Prof Dr Lutful Hasan said that, the inventors and researchers should be aware of their intellectual property and take necessary protections to save their property.
BAU vice-chancellor (In-charge) Prof Dr Jasimuddin Khan was addressed as chief guest with Prof Dr Monoranjan Das in the chair.
Among others, Student’s affairs adviser Prof Dr S D Chowdhury, Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture (BINA) DG Dr Md Shamsher Ali, Agricultural economics and Rural Sociology dean Prof Dr Md Abdul Quddus, Prof Dr M Serajul Islam spoke.
Teachers and postgraduate students of different faculties and researchers from Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture (BINA) attended the programme.-BAU Correspondent:
