Nephew kills uncle, extremist found dead in Jessore

An uncle was beaten to death allegedly by his nephew at Kota village under Sharsha upazila while police recovered the body of an extremist from the River Bhairab under Abhaynagar upazila in Jessore.
The dead were identified as Asgar Fakir, 48 of Kota village under Sharsha upazila and Mintu Sheikh, 30, an alleged member of an extremist party.
Siaruddin Ahmmad, officer in-charge, Sharsha police station told that Asgar Fakir wounded seriously as his nephew Ahidul Fakir hit him with an iron rod over land dispute on Sunday night. He was taken to Jessore Medical College hospital with critical injuries where he died early Monday.
The police arrested Ahidul and his mother Shahida in this connection.
Abhaynagar police recovered the bullet-hit body of Mintu Sheikh from River Bhairab after being informed by the locals in the morning. The body was recovered from Shikirhat area. He was stabbed and shot dead, said the police.
He was a member of an extremist party, the police added.
