An extended meeting of Awami League (AL) Netrakona district unit on Friday vehemently criticized the nonstop blockade programme enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance across the country.
The AL leaders also strongly condemned the BNP-Jamaat activists for their continuous heinous acts of killing innocent people by carrying out patrol bomb attacks and torching passenger buses and goods laden trucks.The meeting was held on the local circuit house premises with acting president of Netrakona AL Matiur Rahman Khan in the chair.AL Central Committee Organizing Secretary Ahmed Hussain, Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy, Rebeka Mumin, MP, Waresat Hussain Belal (Bir Pratik), MP, Chhabi Biswas, MP, and ex-MP and general secretary of Netrakona AL Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru were, among others, addressed the meeting.The meeting also discussed matters relating to organizing activities and ongoing political situation of the country. It decided to gear up organizational activities and hold conferences of all district and upazila units of the party soon.
The meeting also denounced the heinous attack on Chhabi Biswas in Dhaka by BNP cadres and demanded immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of the persons responsible for the attack, reports -BSS, Netrakona
