New Titas gas well starts supply

The newly drilled 22nd well of Titas Gas Field in Brahmanbaria started supplying 12 million cubic feet of gas per day (mmcfd) to the national grid on Wednesday.
Ahmad Hossain, director of the well, said the drilling work at the well had started in January this year.It is the third of the five wells of the gas field that has been drilled by the Russian state-controlled energy giant Gazprom under a Tk 8 billion agreement with BAPEX.
Bangladesh currently produces about 2,300mmcfd of gas per day on an average against a demand of 2,800mmcfd, according to the officials of Petrobangla. – bdnews24.com
