NHRC chief unhappy at measures to curb militancy, terrorism

Gaibandha – Lamenting that terrorists and militants are killing innocent people in the country, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) chairman Dr Mizanur Rahman on Sunday expressed his dissatisfaction over the inadequate measures taken by the government to prevent militancy and terrorism.While visiting the areas in Sadullahpur upazila which came under attacks allegedly by Jamaat-Shibir men after the January 5 parliamentary polls, the NHRC chief said they could not be satisfied with the measures taken by the government in preventing terrorism and militancy in the country.
Dr Mizan also visited the family of Azinur Rahman who died being victim of post-polls violence at Goyeshpur in the upazila. – UNB
