Nine Neo-JMB members put on remand

Dhaka – The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court of Dhaka on Tuesday placed nine suspected Neo-JMB members on a 4-day remand each, while Jannatul Mahal alias Jinnah, a female member of the militant outfit was set on a 2-day remand in a case, filed under the Anti-terrorism Act.Senior Judicial Magistrate Fairuz Tasnim passed the order after hearing on a remand plea of the Investigation Officer (IO). Earlier, IO Ulu Mong produced the militant people to the court seeking a 10-day remand to interrogate them.
The Neo-JMB men are- Jannatul Mahal alias Jinnah, Shariful Islam, Mizanur Rahman, Ziaur Rahman, Abu Sadat Mohammad Sultan Al Raji, Al Mizanur Rashid, Koushik Adnan, Meraj Ali, Mufti Abdur Rahman Bin Ataullah and Mohammad Shahrier Wazed Khan.
A group of the members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) drives detained them from the city’s Kalabagan and Uttara areas on Sunday night.
They were shown arrest in a case filed with Ashulia Police Station in connection with death of JMB leader Sarwar Jahan. A group of RAB members launched a drive in Ashulia area on October 8, when Sarwar allegedly jumped from the roop of a five-storied building and died. – Special Correspondent
