No PESC exam for Class V students

Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman on Tuesday said there will be no Primary Education School Certificate (PESC) examination for the Class V students from this year. The minister came up with the disclosure while talking to reporters at the Secretariat.

He said there will be no public examination at the end of Class V from this year and a draft will be placed before the Cabinet very soon for its approval. Dhaka, UNB News Agency Reported.

The government has recently decided to elevate primary cycle to class VIII. As per the decision, there will be one public examination at the end of Class VIII, Mostafizur added. However, the name of the examination is yet to be decided, he said.
