Non-representative govt deprives people of basic rights: Khaleda

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda Zia said on Monday that she is “gravely disturbed at the lawlessness and heinous attack on women dignity.”

Quoting statistics of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad, former prime minister Khaleda in a tweet message mentioned that a total of 1,251 women and kids were raped, 224 gang raped and 58 of them were killed in the year 2017.

“I’m gravely disturbed at such colossal lawlessness and heinous attack on our women’s dignity,” said Khaleda.

Calling the incumbent Bangladesh Awami League-led (AL) government an unelected one, she said, “This unelected regime uses public money but robs them of their basic rights.”
