Dhaka–North Bengal Cricket Academy outplayed Narayanganj Cricket Academy by 43 runs in the three-team relegation stage battles of the Dhaka Second Division ODM Cricket League at Jahangirnagar University ground on Sunday. Batting first, North Bengal scored 278/5 in 50 overs spurred by the 3rd wicket partnership of 111 off 161 balls between Fazle Rabbi and Moniruzzaman Joy.Rabbi stayed for top-scoring 69 runs while Rifat (63) and skipper Moniruzzaman Joy (50) hammered fifties for the side.Nadim took two wickets for 45 runs for Narayanganj but the side failed to chase down the target of 279 runs, scoring 235/10 in 46.2 overs. Shahjhan (82) was the top scorer for Narayanganj while Sumon Bhuiyan out for 49 runs.Nawshad Iqbal claimed three wickets for North Bengal while Edrish Ali and Mainul Islam took two wickets each for the side.North Bengal will play the next match against Kathalbagan Green Crescent Club at the same venue on Tuesday. – UNB news agency
