Not time to comment on glitch in PM’s flight: Quader

Dhaka – Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Friday said it will be known after investigation whether the incident of technical glitch in the flight carrying Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was an accident or negligence or conspiracy. UNB news agency reported
“Investigation is on. So, it’s not possible to say right now whether it was an accident or negligence or intentional act,” he said replying to a query from reporters after Juma prayers at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the capital.
Special prayers were held at all mosques and other worship places across the country seeking long life and good health of AL President Sheikh Hasina following the technical glitch at the VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister on her way to Budapest, the capital city of Hungary, on Sunday.
Noting that the AL leader and Bangabandhu’s daughter was saved at the mercy of Allah, Obaidul, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said, “There might have been another tragedy, another black episode in the history on that day. Another severe crisis might have gripped the nation.”
AL joint general secretaries Mahbubul Alam Hanif and Abdur Rahman, organising secretary Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, information and research secretary Afzal Hossain, office secretary Abdus Sobhan Golap, environment and forests secretary Delwar Hossain, Dhaka south city unit general secretary Shahe Alam Murad and president of Bangladesh Chhatra League Saifur Rahman Sohag were, among others, present.
The VVIP flight, carrying Hasina, had to make an emergency landing at Ashgabat International Airport in Turkmenistan following low oil pressure in the engine of the aircraft.
On Wednesday, six officials of the national flag carrier were suspended for their negligence of duty over the incident.
