The Customs Intelligence has detained one Ripon Sardar while he was reported smuggling out 70,000 Saudi
Riyals and departing by Malaysian Airlines flight MH113 for Kuala Lumpur at Shahjalal Airport on Sunday night.
Ripon Sardar,42, who hails from Shariatpur, was offloaded at 9 pm after he was found at boarding gate 16
with the said currency in his shoes and hand carried bag.Customs Interlligence sources said Ripon is a frequent flyer and is suspected to be involved in smuggling of gold and other contrabands. A legal action against him is underway, sources said.
