Dhaka – At least one person was killed and 300 shops and houses have burned in fire which broke out at Durchhari Bazar in Baghaichhari upazila of Rangamati hill district on Thursday noon, UNB news agency reported.Fire service sources said the fire broke out at a quilt shop around 12 pm and soon engulfed the adjacent establishments, mostly shops.
On information, a firefighting unit from Dhighinala upazila rushed in and extinguished the blaze after three hours of frantic efforts.
The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
