Younger brothers killed a man allegedly over a land-related dispute at Bagdah Konapara village in Debiganj upazila on Thursday afternoon.The deceased was identified as Khalilur Rahman Khalil, son of late Abdul Jalil of the village.
Police said there had been a longstanding dispute between Khalil and his two younger brothers Nur Islam and Abdul Khalek over a piece of land.On Thursday afternoon, when Nur Islam and Khalek went to the disputed land for cutting bamboos Khalil obstructed them, triggering a clash.At one stage, Nur Islam and Khalek beat up Khalil, leaving him dead on the spot.On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body at about 11.30pm.
The body was sent to a local hospital morgue for autopsy on Friday morning.The two killer brothers went into hiding after the incident.Abdul Monayem, officer-in-charge of Debiganj Police Station, confirmed the matter. A case was filed in this connection. -UNB, Panchagarh
