One person was shot dead at Jhagrarchar Modak Para village in Sribordi upazila of Sherpur district
on Wednesday at about 11 pm.
The deceased was identified as Bhojo Modak (34), son of late Mohan Modak of Jhagrarchar area
of Sribordi Upazila under Sherpur district.
Sources and villagers said Bhojo Modak has a shop at Jhagrarchar bazar. After downing the shutters
of his shop, he returned home at about 11 pm on the day. Immediately a gang of terrorist entered in
Bhojo Modak’s house and killed him by touching pistol in his head.
Smriti Rani, wife of Bhojo Modak said they had a land dispute for a long time with Papon
Modak. She also said Papon Modak threatened to kill them few days ago and when the terrorist
killed her husband before her eyes, he had seen Papon Modak.
Police super of Sherpur Mehedul Karim, Additional Police super Muhibul Islam Khan, senior
police super (Sherpur Circle) Salauddin Shikder and officer In charge of Sribordi thana Muhammad
Ali Sheikh visited the spot on Thursday morning.
Officer in charge of Sribordi thana said three have been arrested in this connection. He added
the process is going on to file a murder case and the body was sent to Sherpur Sadar Hospital for
