Dhaka – A court here on Thursday sentenced a man to death for killing a headmaster of a primary school of Barhatta upazila in 2015 in Netrakona . The convicted was identified as Kala Chand, 43, son of Shamsuddin Sheikh, resident of Monash village.The court also fined the convicted man Tk. 20,000.According to the prosecution, Arjun Chandra Biswas,42, the head teacher of Monash Government Primary School, was chopped to death by Kala Chand, a member of the managing committee of the school, while he was going to the school at around 10.00 am in December 02, 2015 due to a conflict between the school committee and teachers over construction work of the school.Deceased’s wife Maya Rani Biswas, filed a murder case with Barhatta police station accusing four people in December 03, 2015.Police after investigation submitted charge sheet against the all four accused in January 31, 2016.After examining all the records and 16 witnesses, KM Raseduzzaman Raja, District and Session Judge, handed down the verdict acquitting three other accused.UNB news agency
