The BNP-led 18-party alliance will stage countrywide demonstrations on Sunday demanding the arrangement of the next general election under a non-party government. BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Friday announced the programme from a rally of the opposition combine at Suhrawardy Udyan in the city. The rally was arranged as part of its countrywide programme protesting what it said the unconstitutional formation of the all-party government. The demonstration rallies will be held in all cities, district towns and upazila headquarters across the country demanding the restoration of the non-party caretaker government system to oversee the country’s 10 parliamentary elections. – UNB
