Ornaments, donation box and puja materials were stolen from Sree Sree Anandamayee temple at Gopalpur upazila under Tangail district early Sunday.
Chittaranjan Shaha, president of the managing committee of Anandamayee Mandir, said a gang of thieves entered into the temple Sunday night by cutting grills and took away 10- bhori gold and 30-bhori silver ornaments of Goddess Kali, donation box as well as puja materials.On information, Gopalpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tanzina Islam and police inspector (investigation) Mahbubul Haque visited the temple yesterday morning.A case was recorded with Gopalpur thana in this connection. -BSS, Tangail
