One gets ten years imprisonment in Netrakona

District Women and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal Court here on Monday sentenced a man to ten years jail for taking attempt to violate
an adolescent girl in 2006.
The tribunal court also fined him Taka 10,000, in default, to suffer another one-year imprisonment for the offence.The judge of the court Mohammad Abdul Hamid who also the additional district and session judge Netrakona pronounced the verdict at the crowded courtroom.The convicted person was identified as Khairul Fakir, 26, son of Mannaf Fakir of Chorpara village.The prosecution story, in brief, is that on the day of September 12, 2006, Khairul entered into the bedroom of the girl and took a desperate attempt to rape the girl.A case was filed with Barhatta Police Station against Khairul under
the Women and Child Repression Act.Police, after investigation of the case, submitted charge sheet against him before the court.Later, the court after examining the witnesses and evidences handed down the verdict, court sources added. -BSS, Netrakona
