Four people, including a union parishad chairman, were bullet injured in a gun and bomb attack by some miscreants at Bahadurpur in Benapole town last night.
The injured were identified as Lakhkhanpur Union Parishad chairman and union unit Awami League general secretary Kamal Hossain Bhuiyan, Jubo League leader Ashanur Rahman and two pedestrians Shahadat Hossain and Shahidul Islam.Witnesses said a group of miscreants swooped on Kamal and Ashanur, fired three rounds of bullets and threw 5- to hand bombs targeting them while they were returning home from Benapole Bazar at about 11pm,
leaving four people, including two pedestrians, injured with bullets.The miscreants also chopped them with sharp weapons indiscriminately.Later, local people rescued the injured and took them to Jessore Medical College Hospital.Officer-in-charge of Benapole Port Police Station Mosharaf Hossain confirmed the incident. -BSS, Jessore
