‘Outlawed party man’ killed while allegedly making bomb

An outlawed party activist was killed and another injured in an explosion allegedly while they were making bombs in Ataikula upazila of Pabna district on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Mongal Pramanik, 38, son of Malik Pramanik of Dharmagram village in the upazila.
Police said Mongal and Rashidul Islam, 22, were making bombs at the fish farm of one Rubel Hossain at the village. Suddenly, a bomb went off at noon, leaving the duo injured. The explosion blew off the hands of Mongal from wrists.

Locals rescued them and took Mongal to Pabna General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 4pm.
Police recovered bomb-making materials, including gunpowder, from the spot. They also arrested injured Rashidul and four other people suspecting their involvement in the incident.
Police super of Pabna Mirajuddin Ahmed claimed that the injured were members of an outlawed party and they were making bombs for carrying out subversive activities. – UNB
