Peace-keepers will get my vote: Yunus

Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus has said he will vote for those who will restore peace in the country.
“We are in the grasp of a clique. Their intention is to plunge the country into chaos,” he told a gathering at the Yunus Centre on Tuesday.
“We will vote for those who can bring peace to the country.”
He said this while interacting with members of the ‘Muktijoddha Gonoparisad’. The meeting followed his talks with the representatives of political parties.
He also had discussions on Tuesday with the Bangladesh Human Rights Commission.
Human rights were not being protected in Bangladesh, he alleged at the meeting.
“They used to be secure before, but they are not being heeded these days,” he said.
He urged the new generation to play a role in helping to preserve basic human rights.
Yunus also flayed the present government’s move to drop cases for political considerations.
