Pintu denied bail

A Tangail court rejected the bail plea of former BNP lawmaker Nasiruddin Ahmed Pintu in a case filed for his alleged attacking residence of an Awami League leader, stealing cattle and the head of tube-well.

Judicial Magistrate Mokhlesur Rahman passed the order when Pintu was produced before the court around 11:00am Monday.

Meanwhile, the court sent him to jail rejecting the bail plea.

On October 1 in 2001, Pintu along with 15-20 people attacked Jahidul Islam Bhuiyan alias Lebu’s residence with local arms when he refused to give Tk 3 lakh extortion.

Besides, the criminals took away Tk 7,300, two cattle and the head of a tube-well during the attack.

On October 13 in 2012, Jahidul Islam Bhuiyan alias Lebu filed a case making Pintu the key accused after 11 years.banglanews24.com
