PM assassination plot report baseless, motivated: PMO

Dhaka: Trashing a recent news item aired by a foreign TV channel and released by an international online stating the failed plot of killing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has said it is completely baseless, confusing and motivated report.
Signed by PM’s Deputy Press Secretary Ashraful Alam Khokon on behalf of Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim, a PMO press release on Sunday said some local media published a report on September 23 on the failed assassination attempt on the PM on August 24 based on a report run by a foreign TV channel and an international online.

Following the report over the alleged assassination attempt on the Prime Minister accusing some personnel of a special force, news were aired in some local private TV channels and even discussions were also held there, the press release added.
“This is to inform all that the news on failed August 24 assassination attempt on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is completely baseless, confusing and motivated. It’s not at all acceptable from the part of any responsible individual or any aware media to air and publish such confusing news since it is completely goes against the interest of the country,” the release said.
The Prime Minister’s Office also urged all concerned to be careful before airing or publishing such news and conduct media activities with prudence. -UNB
