Kabori returns to the silver screen

The popular actor of the 70s will return to the screen with Mon Debo Mon Nebo, a film directed by Robin Khan.

Veteran film actor Kabori Sarwar, who has been absent from the silver screen for almost five years now, is about to make a comeback. The popular actor of the 70s will return to the screen with Mon Debo Mon Nebo, a film directed by Robin Khan. Although, rumours were making rounds that Kabori wouldn’t be acting in the recent future as she is preparing to work behind the camera. Robin Khan somehow managed to convince the 67-year-old actor to get involved in his upcoming venture, produced by Impress Telefilm.

About her comeback, Kabori, who was last seen in Raja Shurjo Kha in 2012, said, “I am a person of film, which is why I always have an interest in working in new films. The director came to me and told me about his plans, while also expressing his sheer desire to cast me in the film. Let’s see what he makes. Besides, this is the director’s debut film and I want to inspire him too.”

Staying out from the sets, Kabori is now busy with writing and reading, she informed the media. The Titash Ekti Nadir Naam actor also makes rounds at film related gatherings.

Dhallywood actor Mahiya Mahi will don the lead role in Mon Debo Mon Nebo, the story of which revolves around Kabori and Mahi. “I won’t say that this is a completely different character. But there’s comedy, action and romance in it. This is the type of character that will be loved by everyone. Also, the story is female-centric,” Mahi said to the press.

Shoot for the film will begin from Monday at Rangpur, but Kabori will join the crew on the first of October. Capturing the shots in different locations of Kurigram and Lalmonirhat as well, the shoot of Mon Debo Mon Nebo is supposed to wrap up after working 35 days at a stretch.

Robin Khan, who isn’t a newcomer to the industry by any means, has previously made TV plays and telefilms. Apart from directing, Khan also proved his worth as a playwright at times. Expressing his delight to have someone of Kabori’s stature in his debut film, Robin said, “This is really pleasant for me that I have Kabori apa in my first film. I am truly excited.”

Apart from Mahi and Kabori, Mon Debo Mon Nebo will feature Shibly Noman, among others. Abdullah Zahir Babu wrote the story and dialogues for the film.
