PM leaves Dhaka for Bulgeria to attend Global Women Leaders’ Forum

Dhaka – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left here for London on Sunday morning en route to Bulgaria on a three-day official visit to Bulgarian capital Sofia to attend the “Global Women Leaders’ Forum, unb news agency reported.
Apart from joining the forum, the Prime Minister would hold official talks and tete-e-tete with her Bulgarian counterpart Boyko Borissov.
A VVIP flight (BG-005) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport here for the British capital at 10.30 am.Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon, Chief Whip ASM Firoz, PM’s Media Adviser Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, chiefs of the three services, PM’s Principal Secretary Md Abul Kalam Azad, State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam, among others, saw the Prime Minister off at the airport.
The flight is expected to reach Heathrow International Airport in London at 4.15 pm (London time).
Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK Abdul Hannan will receive the Prime Minister at the airport.
Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali and State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroze Chumki will accompany the Prime Minister during her tour in Bulgaria.
Minister of Culture of Bulgaria Vezhdi Rashidov, Executive Director, the Council of Woman in Business in Bulgaria Vanya Kaneva and Bangladesh Ambassador in Sofia Allama Siddiki will receive Sheikh Hasina at the airport.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will call on Bulagarian President Rosen Plevneliev at the Presidential Palace.
Foreign ministry sources said after the official talks on May 20, the two Prime Ministers will witness signing of agreements and they will deliver a joint press statement later.
Sheikh Hasina will join a gala dinner to be hosted by Irina Bokova, the UNESCO director-general and Boriana Manolova, the CEO of Siemens Bulgaria and the chairperson of Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria, at Grand Hotel Sofia.
