PM says: Gas connection in Noakhali soon

Jan 8: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday categorically said the people of the district would be provided with gas connection and others privileges soon.

“The gas of Sundalpur and Shahajadpur will not only be added to national grid, but also will be provided to the people of Noakhali,” she said.
The premier, also ruling Awami League president, made the disclosure while talking to journalists after inaugurating Sundalpur and Shahajadpur gas field of the district Tuesday.
She said, “The people of the area where gas is being found are claimant of the gas. The people of this area will be employed after giving gas connection to the local factories.”
The Prime Minister also urged all the people not to waste gas.
Earlier in the day, thousands of Awami League leaders and activists thronged the housing ground. The hundreds of colourful gates were set up from the college ground to district town to welcome the premier.
Railway Minister Mojibul Haque, State Minister on Women and Child affairs Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, Health and Family planning Secretary Humayun Kabir, Energy and Mineral Resources Secretary Mezbah Uddin, LGRD secretary Abu Alam, AL Organizing Secretary Bir Bahadur Shei Sing, among others, accompanied her during the visit.
