Police Cricket: Sherpur, Mymensingh win

Sherpur – Hosts Sherpur and Mymensingh District Police teams won their respective matches in the Mymensingh Police Range Cricket Tournament beating their rivals at local Police Lines ground on Wednesday.

Sherpur District Police team beat Jamalpur District Police team by five wickets while Mymenisingh Police team again beat Jamalpur District team by 43 runs.

Sent into bat first, Jamalpur scored 113 for 8 in 15 overs with Sanwar making 39, Rubel 31 while another 15 runs came from extras.

Ananda took three wickets giving away 17 runs while Saif grabbed two wickets conceding three runs.

In reply, Sherpur scored the match-winner 114 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 12.4 overs with Arafat scoring 33, Saif 29 and Shohag 16 runs.

Rezaul claimed two wickets for 14 runs. In the day’s other match, Mymensingh District team also beat Jamalpur team by 43 runs.

Batting first, Mymensingh scored 132 for 7 in 15 overs with Mozammel scoring 36, Seissor 33 and Sabuj 27 runs.

Zahir captured two wickets for 27 runs. Chasing a moderate target, Jamalpur folded their innings at 89 runs for 8 in 15 overs with Arif making 27 and Sanwar 15 runs. Pavel picked up three wickets conceding 21 runs.UNB
