Police security from Khaleda’s Gulshan residence goes

Dhaka, April 18 – The police deployed for security of the BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan residence “Firoza” has been withdrawn yesterday, said chairperson’s media wing officer Shamsuddin Didar.The police deployed in front of Khaleda’s residence was withdrawn at about 3:00pm, he said.
A four-member police team led by ASI Md Zafar was discharging duties to ensure security of the Khaleda’s Gulshan residence for a long time, Didar added.
When contacted officer in-charge of Gulshan Police Station Abu Bakar Siddique said he does not know about withdrawal of police frm in front of the Khaleda’s residence.
“I do not oversee it. It is under jurisdiction of protection,” he added.
Khaleda Zia is now in old central jail at Nazimuddin Road. A special judge’s court awarded her five years in jail in a graft case and sent her to jail on February 8. The verdicxt has been challenged in the High Court. – Staff Reporter
