Police unlocks Inquilab printing press after 16 days

The printing press of the daily Inqilab has been unlocked by police on Saturday evening 16 days after putting it under lock and key in the presence of its journalists and employees.
With the opening of printing press of there will be no bar on resumption of publication of the newspaper, said Shakhwat Hossain Badsha, a senior staff reporter of the daily.He said they would start working from Sunday and the newspaper will be appeared on Monday.  Inspector Firoj, the investigation officer of the case, unlocked the printing press around 6:45pm, according to sources.
Police also opened the server room of the newspaper which would allow its internet edition.
On January 16, Detective Branch (DB) of police sealed off the newspaper office following publication a “false and fabricated” news item claiming that Indian forces were helping joint forces to carryout drives against terrorists in Satkhira.  They also picked up three journalists of the daily in this connection.
Police said the news has no basis and filed a case in this regard under Information Communication Technology (ICT) Act.
After the police raid the Inqilab management published an apology on its internet edition for publishing news with out basis. – Staff Reporter
