Awami League general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam on Wednesday said
the election will be held in time and under the present government
headed by Sheikh Hasina. “The election will be held in time, it’ll be free, fair and neutral. The election will be held under the current
government headed by Sheikh Hasina. This was the main agenda of
today’s meeting,” he said. The Awami League spokesperson said this
while briefing reporters after the Awami League Central Working
Committee (ALCWC) meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official
residence Ganobhaban. Responding to a question, Ashraf, also the
LGRD Minister of the present interim government, said the election
rescheduling is the Election Commission’s jurisdiction. “But we (AL)
won’t accept any change in the election date,” he said. – UNB
