Quader Mollah’s full judgment to be released Thursday

The full text of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court judgment pronouncing capital punishment to Abdul Quader Mollah of Jamaat-e-Islami for committing crimes against humanity during the 1971 Liberation War is likely to be officially released on Thursday.“All preparations in this regard are finalised after perusing the dissenting order written by Justice M Abdul Wahhab Miah as submitted later,” sources at the apex court said.
Allowing the government’s appeal seeking death sentence for him, the Appellate Division on September 17 with a majority decision sentenced lifer Jamaat-e-Islami assistant secretary general Abdul Quader Mollah to death for his crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.
On February 5, convicting detained Jamaat leader Quader Mollah on five counts of the 1971 war crimes, the International Crimes Tribunnal-2 unanimously sentenced him to life term imprisonment. – UNB
