Premier cricket: Shinepukur beat Mohammedan in dramatic match

Dhaka – Shinepukur Cricket Club beat Mohammedan Sporting Club on Friday by two wickets in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League.

Mohammedan were all-out for 324 runs in 49.3 overs but Shinepukur chased it with two balls to spare at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
 Four batsmen of Mohammedan struck fifties in the game.

Liton Das and Irfan Sukkur scored 84 and 50 respectively. They set a solid start adding 101 runs in the opening stand. Avishek Mitra (50) and Raqibul Hasan (74) also hit half centuries.
 Sohag Gazi added 45 off 22 balls and helped Mohammedan pass the 300-runs mark.
 For Shinepukur, Delwar bagged five wickets conceding 45 runs in 7.3 overs while Sohrawordi Shuvo took two wickets conceding 72 runs in 10 overs.
 Chasing the mammoth total, Shinepukur lost their first two wickets in 43 runs. But their Indian recruit Unmukt Chand and Afif Hossain helped the side stay in the race.
 They lost five wickets in 117 runs. But in the sixth-wicket stand, Afif and Amite Hasan posted 118 runs, and in the eighth-wicket stand, Delwar and Sohrawordi added 59 runs.
 Eventually, they chased the target (325/8) with two wickets in hand in 49.4 overs. It was one of the most successful chases in the ongoing league.
 For Mohammedan, Sohag and Rajat took two wickets each.

Delwar Hossain announced as man of the match.
 It was Shinepukur’s fourth win in the league while Mohammedan suffered their fifth defeat.UNB
