President off to Singapore for check-up

Dhaka, Feb 22 – President Abdul Hamid left here for Singapore on Wednesday night for a medical check-up there.
A regular flight of Singapore Airlines carrying the President took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:50 pm, said President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin.Finance Minister AMA Muhith, Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, Dean of Diplomatic Corps in Bangladesh, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office, chiefs of three services and civil and military high officials saw him off at the airport.
President’s wife Rashida Khanom and officials concerned of the President are accompanying him.
During the six-day visit, Abdul Hamid is scheduled to undergo a health check-up at Mount Elizabeth Hospital and eye treatment at Singapore National Eye Centre.
He is expected to return home on February 27. – UNB
