Bangladesh International Hotel Association(BIHA)’s press conference to maintain normal situation regarding removal of Star Hotels from Gulshan area by the government for strengthening security measures against terroris tattack with joint recommendations by Govt. authority and Star Hotels authority.(31 July 16) a press conference presided over by President of Bangladesh International Hotel Association (BIHA) Mr. H.M. Hakim Ali held at “Amri Dhaka” Gulshan, Dhaka where BIHA leaders expressed their opinion and thanked Govt. regarding strengthening security measures against terrorist attack at Gulshan Restaurant “Holey Artisan Bakery Restaurantant extended their blind support and cooperation and expressed their readiness to cooperate for the purpose. The Association thinks that if the security zone is formed with joint recommendations of Govt. and owners of Star Hotels then it will not require removing Star Hotels.
Rather abiding by law enforcing agency of the Govt.’s road map already employed security personnel and allied measures will further be strengthened security measures than ever.Association also thanks that the Star Hotels already in running in the elite area are giving services to attract foreign tourists but will give a negative impact to the visiting tourist if they are removed on plea of security purpose for the recent turmoil. In Star Hotels every night at about more than 3000 foreign guest live. From these organizations Govt. earns VAT tax and Tax in foreign exchange. In addition to this Govt. is getting Gas, Electricity, Water Bill and other taxes as commercial use. Due to the decision of Govt. to remove Star Hotels frustration is prevailing among the owners of these organizations. To solve this problems concerned authority of the government was requested to sit with the owners of Star Hotels of the Gulshan area so to come to a unanimous decision for the purpose.
