Promote fine arts to fight alien cultural invasion

Charukala Barisal, the only fine arts training institution of the city, organised a two-day children painting competition, painting, pottery and sculpture exhibition on Friday calling to spread practices of fine arts to fight against foreign cultural invasion. Uttam Das Udas, a renowned painter of the city inaugurated the programme held at Barisal Ashwini Kumar Hall to remember 26th anniversary of the organisation.
Altaf Hossain, president Charukala Barisal, presided over the inaugural ceremony, addressed among others by Salahuddin Howladar, secretary of the organization, Jiban Krishna Dey, Mintu Bose, child
organization activists, Akkas Hossain, Nazrul Islam Chuunu, cultural activists.
The speakers stressed on spreading movement and study of fine arts in regional and grass root level for development and strengthening of the healthy national culture and traditions of the soil to resists
infiltration of unhealthy immoral intervention of foreign culture. On the closing day on  Saturday a discussion meeting and prize giving
ceremony along with exhibition from  9:00 am to 9:00 pm would be held.
