PSC delegation calls on President

Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) on Wednesday submitted its annual report-2013 to President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban. The report was handed over to the President when a 14-member delegation of PSC, led by its chairman Ekram Ahmed, called on him at Bangabhaban. During the meeting, the delegation apprised the President of the Commission’s activities. It said the present Commission has completed seven BCS examinations in six years and recommended 18,636 persons for appointment in various cadres. The PSC delegation also informed the President that they received a list for filling up 1,749 vacant posts in different cadres through the 35th BCS. The Commission has taken initial preparation to issue the circular for the 35th BCS examination, it said. Mentioning that the Commission has formed a committee with a view to making the BCS examination syllabus more modern and time-befitting, the delegation said that the committee submitted a draft of modern and time-befitting syllabus to the Commission. The President was also apprised that the Commission has taken steps to make effective the creative question paper and newly formulated syllabus from the 35th BCS. The PSC delegation informed the President some problems of the Commission and sought his cooperation to resolve those problems. President Abdul Hamid gave a patient hearing to the delegation and expressed his satisfaction over the activities of the PSC.
