Quarantine station to be installed in Jamalpur

JAMALPUR, Feb 11, 2014(BSS) – The government has taken up a programme to set-up a quarantine station in the district aimed at

examining imported animals as well as diagnoses the disease of local cattle.

District livestock office sources said the government has allotted Taka 2.5 crore to set-up the quarantine station on 20

decimals of land at Kamalpur, a frontier area, in Bakshiganj upazila of the district.

After setting up the quarantine station, the imported livestock to be examined in it so that no sick animal could enter
into the country, said district livestock officer Azgar Ali.
Besides, he said, local people would also get the facilities to examine their animals to find out diseases in the quarantine
station.
