Comilla, Feb 11 (UNB) – A court here on Tuesday sent 16 activists of BNP, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) and Jubo Dal to jail in a case filed in connection with the killing of a BGB member in violence on November 26 last year.
istrict Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Amlan Kushum Jishnu passed the order when the accused surrendered before the court in the afternoon.
The accused include Comilla City Corporation councillor and ward-13 BNP President Shakhawat Ullah Shipon.
A Border Guard Bangladesh member, Ripon, was killed and a policeman injured in a clash between the law enforcers and the BNP-led 18-party activists at Chartha in the city on November 26.
Sub-inspector Shahidul Islam filed a murder case with Kotwali Model Police Station.
