Dhaka, Feb 11 (UNB) – Bangladesh Coast Guard seized huge 74,000 Yaba tablets worth about Tk 3.70 crore from Inani Beach of Cox’s Bazar early Tuesday.
This was the biggest haul of contraband tablets by the coastguards in the recent times.
Contacted, Commander MB Rashid of Coast Guard Headquarters said based on secret information an operation team of Coast Guard East Zone Chittagong conducted a drive in the Inani Beach area at about 12:30 am.
During the drive, the law enforcers recovered 74,000 Yaba tablets.
However, no one was arrested as the smugglers fled the scene sensing the presence of the coastguards, he added.
