(BSS)- An auto-rickshaw driver was killed
at Fatehnagar area in Raozan upazila early today after being
attacked by car lifters. The victim Mohammad Mohiuddin, 29, son
of Zakir Hossain, hailed from Abdullahpur union of Fatikchhari
upazila.
Raozan thana police brought victim to Chittagong Medical
College Hospital (CMCH) with stab injuries by snatchers but the
attending doctors declared him dead after admission at 1 am last
night.
Officer-in-Charge of Raozan thana Pradip Kumar Das, said
snatchers made an attempt to take away Mohiuddin’s three-wheeler
after killing him.
Hearing the cry of the victim, local people gathered at the
spot and the car lifters left the place leaving the victim and
his three wheelers, he added.
OC, Prodip Kumar said local people found Mohiuddin who was
lying in a pool of blood in the area at about 12.30 am and
informed police.
The body was sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy. Police
also recovered his auto-rickshaw from the spot. A case filed with
Raozn thana in this connection.
